The official Liberty Pole of the Mingo Creek Craft Distillers started out as a donated tree from the property of Todd and Suzanne Ashmore. Mike and Valerie Reynolds, along with Mike Sanders, joined Todd in donating their time to hew the bark off the tree with a traditional draw knife.
The bracket and well wheel were put into place and a trial run was conducted to make sure that the pole could go up safely and that it would stay up safely.
After we were sure it was safely in place, we took it down and carried it over to the Bradford House Museum where it will remain until the official ceremony begins.
