Every May, we celebrate National Road Days by inviting a guest bartender to the distillery. This year we were lucky enough to have Jon Harter, a loyal customer and cocktail enthusiast. He took the time to develop a special recipe using our Peated Bourbon and it couldn't be more delicious.
Ingredients
2 oz. Peated Bourbon
2 oz. Tart Cherry Juice
1/4 oz. Ghost Pepper Simple Syrup
2 dashes Black Walnut Bitters
The first step is to smoke the glass. This can be done by lighting oak chips on a wooden board and smothering the flame with a glass. While the smoke collects, combine all ingredients and shake over ice. Flip glass upright and pour in cocktail. Garnish with cherries and enjoy!
Ghost Pepper Simple Syrup
1 part water
1 part sugar
1 dried Yellow Ghost Pepper (Habanero pepper can be substituted)
Boil all ingredients until the sugar dissolves. Take off heat and leave pepper in to taste. Let cool before using.
